Hotel Review Websites

A quick post today to recommend a few travel information / hotel review websites “off the beaten path”. Sure, we all know about TripAdvisor.com, Fodors.com and HotelChatter.com, but I sometimes prefer a less corporate approach. Bloggers often provide just such insight.

Cool Hotels http://coolhotels.typepad.com/ – in reviews like the recent one of the Penn’s View Hotel in Philadelphia, the site clearly and succinctly captures the essence of the hotel up for consideration.

HappyHotelier.com http://www.happyhotelier.com/ – an excellent blog, updated often, by a hotelier in the Netherlands. Good stuff here of general interest, not so much hotel reviews. I particularly like the Unusual Hotels section.

ALuxuryTravelBlog.com http://www.aluxurytravelblog.com/ – gives you a taste of the good life from an international perspective. Read it and see…

IGoUGo.com http://www.igougo.com/ – ok, ok, it’s not a blog. But IGoUGo.com produces some of the hippest travel guides around, particularly suited to the 20-30 crowd.

Are there hotel review blogs I’ve forgotten? Let me know if you’d like your site to be considered for addition to this list.

Thank you for your kind review.

Maybe have a look at http://traveler.fivestaralliance.com/
although related with the 5 * Alliance, the author seems quite unbiased.

On arrival to the Turks and Caicos Islands I was the only ones being picked up in a limousine at the less than large airport, the pampering began!!! I pulled up the lobby which was amazing in itself as you could see straight out to the beach as soon as you got there. I was greeted by personal assistants and the General Manager Jonathan, who welcomed me with cold towels and fruity drinks. Ahhhh paradise!!after walking the beautiful property and being taken up to my room I had a great deep tissue massage underneath the wedding cabana and then dinner. I went to a few restaurants while I was there, Coyaba, Parallel 23 and Anacaona and of course the Nikki Cafe’, oh it was ridiculously great. Price ranges on the island are really high but the experience is worth it.
