Super Bowl XLIII Hotels & Packages

These are selling fast! Through our ticketing partner, we have access to Super Bowl XLIII hotels and ticket packages at great prices. At prices starting under $5000 per ticket, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get in to the greatest football game of the year.

Super Bowl XLIII Basics: this year’s game will take place on February 1, 2009 at Raymond James Stadium (4201 N. Dale Mabry Hwy) in Tampa Florida. Raymond James is normally the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but, naturally, the Super Bowl won’t necessarily include that team. This is an open air stadium that will seat up to 65,857 people. An interesting fact is that the seats at the venue are actually different sizes… higher-priced pewter seats are 21 inches wide while regular seating is just 19 inches. (Hey, it could make a difference for you!) The last time the stadium hosted the Super Bowl was in 2001 when the Giants defeated the Ravens 34-7.

If you already have tickets to the game in Tampa, perhaps you need help finding a hotel nearby? Find a hotel easily using our Tampa hotel map. First, find N Dale Mabry Highway. Once you do, find the intersection of that Highway with W Tampa Bay Blvd… and there’s the stadium! The closest hotels to Super Bowl XLIII are:

There are many others, so we welcome you to consult the map for more suggestions. If you are one of the lucky 63000 who make it to the game, lucky you! Have a great time.

Hotel Review Websites

Idea 1: Hotel rooms are no different than any other consumable; each stay results in an opinion, good or bad. Idea 2: One of the great things about the web is that it’s an easy to reach outlet for millions of consumers to use to voice their opinion.

Hotel review websites are a great example of the marriage of the two ideas. Depending on the format, they offer tens to thousands of stories and opinions on popular hotels. Let’s take a look at a few of the best:

www.tripadvisor.com – the king of the mountain when it comes to hotel reviews. They have the most opinions per property.

www.fodors.com & www.frommers.com/hotels/ – two older names in the travel guide business, they both offer a good deal of well-written hotel reviews through their websites.

www.hotelchatter.com & www.travbuddy.com – a new generation of hotel review websites, these have a growing user base with varied and interesting opinions.

www.google.com – yes, Google.com is one of the best places to go to cut to the chase in your hotel search. Just plug in the name of your hotel and results (most likely from the websites listed above) will come up!

A little research before your reservation could prove to be invaluable. These suggestions will get you well on your way to finding a friendly, clean hotel that’s been as good as “pre-approved” for your enjoyment.

Pushing this post a bit further… I often wonder what’s the next thing. So what hotel review websites are out there that are doing something different with the niche? Suggestions from the audience are welcome!

Omni Jacksonville Hotel

Jacksonville, Florida – the largest city in the Sunshine State and 12th largest in the United States. This beautiful city is located just south of the Georgia border, in the northeast corner of the state of Florida. The city center includes the Jacksonville Landing and the Jacksonville Riverwalks, so you know there’s plenty to do, but what about a place to stay? There are a lot of two and three star hotels in Jacksonville, but the Omni Jacksonville Hotel is my vote for living in luxury.

The Omni Jacksonville is located downtown in the middle of the business district. Moreover, it’s just a walk across the street to the Jacksonville Landing Riverfront Marketplace, where you can find dozens of shops, restaurants and bars. For football fans, the Omni is just one mile from Jacksonville Municipal Stadium… of course, that’s the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. But back to the hotel: the 16 floors host more than 350 rooms and suites. To keep you comfortable, there’s an onsite pool and health spa. Since many who stay in Jacksonville are there for business, the Omni features 14,000 square feet of meeting space with 16 separate rooms available. A full business center can help keep you connected in a pinch.

In the opening, I implied that the Omni is a high-class hotel… and it is a 4 star property, but the per room prices are very reasonable. A quick search of September 2008 showed rates commonly available for $140 per night. That’s not too bad for such a full-featured option. There are competitors like the Radisson Hotel Jacksonville Butler Boulevard and Embassy Suites Hotel Jacksonville Baymeadows but none match the combination of location, amenities and features offered by the Omni Jacksonville Hotel.

Online Hotels

(a history)
With the development of the Internet, consumers saw the rise of hotel reservation mega-sites offering discounts on rooms around the world. As web users became more savvy in their online exploration, they began finding discounted rates on their own through various smaller lodging suppliers. These bargain-concious, niche travel communities evolved into informal networks of travelers sharing reviews, video and photo galleries of their adventures. And that's where online hotels stopped... for a while. With the advent of "Web 2.0" content development and its adjunct focus on these communities, reservation providers have been left to scramble to find ways of reaching this new breed of well-read, well-traveled consumer. That's where 4Hotels.us comes in. Our team is pleased to bring you traditional hotel and motel bookings within a unique environment of community-aggregated photos, RSS news and destination information. Yes, it is a grand experiment but we believe this is the future of online travel. Relax and enjoy.
